    POSITION SUMMARY:     Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Certified Home Health Aide provides personal care for the patient and assists with activities of daily living. The CNA/HHA functions in a supportive relationship to professional disciplines and may function as an extension of these professional services with written instructions, appropriate supervision and specialized hospice training. 



    EDUCATION: The qualification for an individual or individuals employed by contractual agreement to deliver nursing assistant services, has a certificate of completion from an approved nurse aide training program and/or certificate of completion from an approved home health aide training program.  In addition, registration is required by the appropriate Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant/Certified Home Health Aide.

    EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as a nursing assistant and personal care experience strongly preferred.   Has not had a lapse of 24 consecutive months where the aide has not provided services for compensation.
