    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician is a member of the Active Medical Staff of Capital Caring and provides services to our patients throughout our continuum of care. This continuum includes, but is not limited to: home and facility-based hospice; home and facility-based palliative care; inpatient hospice; hospital-based palliative care consultation; and outpatient palliative care clinics.

    Qualifications

    Licensure: Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maryland, the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the District of Columbia as dictated by job responsibilities and regional assignments.

    DEA and State Controlled Substances Registration in above jurisdictions.

     

    EDUCATION: A licensed physician (Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy) from an accredited school.

     

    Board certification in a related specialty; certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of related experience or a Palliative Care Fellowship preferred. Expertise in the medical care of terminally ill individuals required.
