    Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: The focus of the On Call Nurse is to provide visits to patients with emergent, critical needs in a timely manner. The On Call Nurse arranges for, teaches, and supervises nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the Interdisciplinary Group. The On-Call Nurse makes nursing assessments (of a Registered Nurse) and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice.

    Qualifications

    LICENSURE: Licensure in the jurisdiction of nursing practice.-State of Virginia or compact state

    EDUCATION: Nursing degree from NLN, CCNE nursing program. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of medical-surgical nursing experience. Experience in Hospice, home health, community health, or oncology nursing preferred. CHPN preferred.
