    POSITION SUMMARY:The focus of the Hospice Nurse (Extended Hours) is to provide routine and scheduled visits as well as emergent critical need visits to patients in a timely manner over the extended hours schedule.
    The Hospice Nurse arranges for, teaches, and supervises the nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the Interdisciplinary Group. The Hospice Nurse makes nursing assessments and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice.


    Licensure: Current Commonwealth of Virginia professional nursing license.


    EDUCATION: Diploma or Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school required; BSN preferred.


    EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years of medical-surgical nursing experience. Experience in Hospice,
    home health, community health, or oncology nursing preferred. CHPN preferred.
