GENERAL DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing the building maintenance, repair, and food services department for assigned facilities within Capital Caring. This includes overseeing the equipment inspections and maintaining appropriate records and documentation for Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, Adler Center for Caring, Merrifield building, and DC and MD Inpatient units. The Assistant Director of Facilities Management is also responsible for all buildings and grounds, ensuring the following:
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management also has oversight responsibility for housekeeping staff servicing the Falls Church office and for coordination with third party building management vendors. With the Director of Facilities Management, the Assistant Director of Facilities Management provides supervisory leadership for the Food Services department at Halquist and at Adler, ensuring that regulatory requirements are met, providing for leadership of the employed staff and engaging any necessary external consultants to support the clinical aspect of food delivery.
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management is responsible for supervising all maintenance and housekeeping staff, the maintenance supervisor, food services staff, and assigned volunteers.
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management must have at least five years of hospital/facility experience including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, building codes, and safety regulations. Prior experience in a comparable leadership role is also required.
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management must have at least a high school diploma or GED.
Required Certificates and/or Licenses:
The Assistant Director of Facilities Management is desired to have a certification as a Healthcare Safety Professional.
The ability to interact favorably with varied patients, families and staff; read and write simple reports, performs simple math and follow written instructions; read, write and communicate with staff, vendors and volunteers; follow oral and written instructions; maintain valid driver’s license and good driving record; act independently; demonstrate knowledge of various mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and knowledge of building codes and safety regulations is also required.
