Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Nights & Weekends is prepared to handle all on-going needs, in addition to urgent needs of patients and their families after hours in their homes or facility.  The RN or LPN Nights & Weekends follows the established care plan of the patient while ensuring comfort care to the patient and support to family members.  The RN Nights & Weekends arranges for, teaches, and supervises nursing care of patients in home care and facility settings in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

 

Location: Montgomery County, some PG county and DC coverage

 

Schedule: 7 shifts per 2 weeks, rotates nights and days. Required holiday and weekend shifts

 

COVID-19 vaccine required to be completed upon start

Responsibilities

The RN Nights & Weekends visits patients with emergent, critical needs in a timely manner.  The RN Nights & Weekends makes nursing assessments and uses critical thinking skills to provide care based on evidence-based practice, within scope of practice. May be asked to rotate to other regions/departments.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

Must have one year of staff nurse experience in a comparable setting/unit.  Hospice and/or palliative care experience is strongly preferred.

 

Education Requirements

Must have a degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. 

 

Licensure and/or Certification Requirements

Requires licensure from the governing body of practice for the District of Columbia, State of Maryland, and/or the Commonwealth of Virginia, based on the state/jurisdiction of practice.  Licensure from compact state. Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) is required to practice in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. A CHPN certification is a plus.

 

Driver's License

Must have a driver's license in good standing and access to a vehicle during working hours.
